Overview

The Construction Field Foreman oversees all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Serving as the primary liaison between management, construction teams, and customers, the foreman coordinates resources, monitors progress, and communicates project updates. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
 

Responsibilities

The foreman leads and supervises construction crews and subcontractors, providing guidance to ensure optimal performance and adherence to project requirements. They coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to plan and execute construction activities according to specifications and deadlines. Enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and addressing hazards are key components of this role. The foreman ensures quality assurance by monitoring progress, conducting inspections, and verifying compliance with building codes and standards. They manage resources efficiently, resolving conflicts, delays, or issues to keep projects on track and within budget. As the on-site communication lead, they relay information between teams, provide progress updates, and identify risks. 
 

Qualifications

Candidates should have a minimum of two years of construction experience, with a successful track record in a leadership role such as a foreman or supervisor. Proficient knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials is required, along with the ability to read blueprints and specifications. Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central is preferred, but training is available. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. The foreman must demonstrate problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety. OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training certification is preferred. Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite is also required, as is the ability to work in physically demanding environments.
 

Education and Certifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional certification or training in construction management, carpentry, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
 

Working Conditions

This role is primarily based on construction sites, with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and potential hazards. Travel to job sites across Oregon and Washington, approximately 50 percent of the time, is required. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
 

Schedule

The position involves 8 to 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with on-call availability and potential overtime.
