There are so many fun things about purchasing a home with Wolf Industries! One of those being customizations. A big decision home purchasers struggle with is choosing a shed roof vs. a gable roof. So, what’s the difference and what are the benefits to each?

Shed Roofs

A shed roof, also known as a single-sloping roof or lean-to, is a flat roof that has a single steeper slope in one direction. It is a very simple clean design with a modern feel. This design allows for more natural light into your home.

Our design has high windows added to the tall front wall of the home, for additional sunlight. Inside the home, the front high wall will have a height of about 10 ft sloping down to the back wall with a height of about 8 ft.

Gable Roofs

A gable roof is the more common and traditional roof design. Think of an “A”, with the highest pitch point of two sides meeting in the middle, making a triangular shape. That triangular inset at each end of the home is what is the gable.

On our homes, the gable can have different material added to it to make the design pop a little more, like cedar shakes, or it can be kept with the same siding material as the rest of the homes’ exterior. Inside, you’ll have 8 ft. walls on each side with a 9 ft. – 10 ft. peak in the middle, depending on which model you choose.
