Wolf Home Solutions

Wolf modular homes work for a lot of different uses: a compact tiny home (Model B, City of Portland only, or Model K), a detached ADU or DADU (E, F, J, or L), or a full-time primary home (J, L, or I). Homeowners use the same factory product as guest homes, backyard cottages, cabins, long-term or short-term rentals (when local rules allow), multi-generational living, aging-in-place layouts, and hardship housing.

Every home is set on a permanent foundation (trailer mounting is quoted only by request). For larger projects, Wolf uses the same modular approach for cottage clusters, quadplexes, rental cabin communities, senior housing duplexes, and mission-driven housing with nonprofits.

One factory, many names

Calling it an ADU, guest house, granny flat, or vacation cabin doesn’t change the setbacks. Wolf has built more than 650 homes and has dozens of case studies of customers using them these ways. Your lot still gets its own review.

Model B is available in the City of Portland only. Any model within the jurisdiction size limit can also be an ADU.

Accessory dwelling units (ADUs)

A second complete home on land you already own. Every Wolf model can be an ADU where it fits the jurisdiction size limit; the smaller plans (B, K, E, F) are the usual fit for hobby, office, and event spaces.

ADU on foundation

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit

Every Wolf model can be set on a permanent foundation as an accessory dwelling unit, as long as it meets your jurisdiction’s size rules. Owners use them as guest suites, backyard cottages, long-term rentals, home offices, and homes for aging parents or adult children. We handle the site planning, utility connections, and final setup, so the ADU is ready to live in when we finish.

Detached ADU

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit

A detached ADU adds a complete, separate home without building an addition onto the main house. Any Wolf model within the jurisdiction size limit can be one. Families use them for parents, adult children, guests, or renters, and each household keeps its own entry and its own quiet. Because it stands alone, you also have more say in where it sits on the lot, and your existing house stays as it is.

Backyard cottage

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit

Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit can be a backyard cottage. Pick the size for how you’ll use it: a guest room for visitors, a home office, a place for family to live close by, or a small rental. The cottage is a finished home on a permanent foundation, separate from the main house, and it can change roles later if your plans do.

Guest home

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit

A guest home gives friends and family their own place to stay without crowding the main house. Any Wolf model within your jurisdiction size limit works, from a compact plan for weekend visitors to a larger one for longer stays. The same building can later become a home office, a long-term rental, or housing for family.

Hardship home

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit

A hardship home gives a family member safe, private housing close by after a medical event, a divorce, a job change, or a temporary displacement. Any model within the jurisdiction sizing guidelines can be used, from the compact plans to the larger ones built for long-term living. Once the immediate need passes, the home can often become a guest house, backyard cottage, or rental.

Long-term rental

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit

Any Wolf model within the jurisdiction size limit can be a long-term rental, whether that’s a compact backyard unit, a detached ADU, or a small primary home. Tenants get a durable, efficient home built for year-round living, and you get monthly income and added property value. If your plans change, the same home can house family, host guests, or serve as an aging-in-place home.

Short-term rental

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit, where local rules allow short-term renting

Where local rules allow short-term renting, any Wolf model within the jurisdiction size limit can be a short-term rental. Owners put them in vacation areas, add them as accessory units on existing properties, or rent them seasonally and keep them open for family the rest of the year. If regulations or plans change, the home can switch to a long-term rental, guest house, or family housing.

Multi-generational living

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit

A second home on the property lets parents, grandparents, adult children, or returning family members live close by while each household keeps its own space. Any model within the jurisdiction size limit can serve. Families use the setup for aging in place, help with childcare, and avoiding the cost of housing nearby. Because it’s a complete home, it can become a guest home or rental later.

Aging-in-place home

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit

An aging-in-place home lets a parent live independently, close to family, in a single-level home without stairs. Any model within the jurisdiction size limit can serve, from a compact cottage layout to a larger plan with room for visitors, a caregiver, or hobbies. It avoids a major remodel of the main house, and the same home can later become a guest house, rental, or multi-generational space.

Adult children on-property

Fits: Any Wolf model that fits the jurisdiction size limit

A second home on the property gives a grown child a place of their own close by. That might be a recent graduate, someone saving for a house, or someone coming home for a while. Any model within the jurisdiction size limit can serve. Everyone keeps their privacy, and later the home can become a guest space, a long-term rental, or an aging-in-place option.

If you want room for several uses at once, any Wolf model can be set up as a flex space.

Bridal / groom suite

Fits: Models B, K, E, or F are the usual fit; any model works if you want more room

For properties that host weddings and events, a Wolf home can be a bridal or groom suite where couples get ready, rest between photos, and stay the night before or after. The smaller Models B, K, E, and F are the usual fit and are easy to place on a venue property. Venues that want a larger suite can use any Wolf model.

Pool house

Fits: Models B, K, E, or F are the usual fit; any model works if you want more room

A Wolf home can serve as a pool house with a lounge area, a private bathroom, and room for overnight guests, so no one tracks back through the main house. The smaller Models B, K, E, and F are the usual fit. For more room to entertain, store gear, or host longer stays, any Wolf model can be a pool house.

Cottage clusters arrange several smaller homes around shared outdoor space. Any model can be used, but Models F, E, and C are the go-to choices: efficient footprints, livable layouts, and a repeatable plan that keeps permitting and production predictable. Developers use clusters to add homes for long-term rentals, attainable ownership, workforce housing, and nonprofit partnerships. One home design repeats across many units.

Duplex

Fits: Model H is the dedicated side-by-side duplex; Model M (coming soon) stacks two homes on one footprint; custom duplex options for projects over seven units

A duplex puts two residences on one site in a building that still looks like a neighborhood home. Model H is our dedicated side-by-side duplex plan, used for long-term rentals, attainable and workforce housing, and small infill developments. Model M, coming soon, is a stacked duplex: a complete two-bedroom, one-bath home on each floor inside a 44 by 14 foot footprint, for lots where two units have to fit on a small pad. For projects over seven units, we can build custom duplex options so the floor plans, unit mix, and layout match the site and the jurisdiction’s requirements.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is Wolf Home Solutions?

Wolf Home Solutions describes the ways customers use our modular homes, ADUs (accessory dwelling units), and tiny homes, including primary residences, guest and vacation homes, senior-ready layouts, cottages, and multi-unit projects.

Which models fit which use?

Tiny homes usually start at Model B (City of Portland only) or K; detached ADUs at E, F, J, or L; primary homes at J, L, or I. Those are starting points; the lot and the jurisdiction decide the final plan.

Do you still offer homes on trailers?

Only by request. Every home we sell today is permitted as a permanent dwelling on a foundation; a trailer-mounted unit is generally not a permitted dwelling and is not RV-rated. If a trailer mount is the only way your project works, ask during the free evaluation and we will quote it case by case.

What does a project cost?

Prices for the homes themselves range from $67,500 (Model B, City of Portland only) to $178,500 (Model I). Appliances are separate; you can purchase our appliance package or provide your own. Compare current models and starting prices. Installation, site work, permitting, and local fees are quoted for your property. Request a free property evaluation for a price based on your lot.
