Vacation homes
Vacation Home Builder
A vacation home should work for family and friends in every season. Wolf employees handle permits, build your code-compliant home indoors, and complete delivery and installation in Washington and Oregon. Third-party specialists may be needed for work such as surveys or septic design and installation.
Where Wolf works
In Washington and Oregon, Wolf employees handle your project from property review and permits through construction, site work, delivery, and installation. Some projects require third-party services, such as surveys or septic design and installation, depending on the property and jurisdiction. Beyond Washington and Oregon, local contractors complete site work and utility connections.
Who it’s for
Who a factory-built vacation home can work for
Mountain, lake, or coastal lot owners
You own or are buying land and want a comfortable four-season place to gather. We review delivery access, utilities, and site conditions before recommending a plan. For salt-air locations, ask about the optional Coastal Package.
Families building a four-season retreat
A legal kitchen, bath, and heat source make the place usable in January as well as July. The permit still has to treat it as a dwelling.
Owners comparing guest use and short-term lodging
A vacation home and a short-term rental may need different local approvals. If rental income is part of the plan, review the vacation-rental guidance before estimating returns.
What Wolf builds
What Wolf builds as a vacation home
These are the same factory-built modular homes we install as ADUs (accessory dwelling units) and cottages. They are all-electric, built to residential code, and typically placed on a 6-inch concrete stem-wall foundation. Our models range from 307 to 1,232 sq ft, with prices for the homes themselves ranging from $67,500 (Model B, available only in the City of Portland) to $178,500 (Model I). Your complete project is quoted after reviewing the property and confirming the scope. Your property determines the final price.
Factory build, field set
Framing, wiring, plumbing, and finishes come together in Battle Ground. Shop time is typically three to four weeks; permitting often takes two to nine months, and most complete projects take about a year.
Permits and utilities in one team
We file the local placement application and connect water, sewer or septic, and electrical service. Wolf vacation homes are built to residential code.
Lodging rules stay local
Oregon cities may apply owner-occupancy or parking conditions to short-term lodging. Washington cities set their own rental licensing rules. We build the dwelling; the owner is responsible for operating it under those rules.
Process
When a vacation home is legal on your land
- 1
What it is
A complete, foundation-set home you use seasonally or year-round. On a lot that already has a house it is often permitted as an ADU; on vacant land it may be a primary dwelling. The label is a local code question.
- 2
When it is legal
When zoning, setbacks, and occupancy rules allow a dwelling, and, if you want to list it, when a separate short-term-rental path exists. Rules vary by parcel, so we confirm yours.
- 3
Typical size and cost
How many people would stay, and where would you spend time together? Compare the rooms and footprints in the catalog without choosing a model yet. The published amounts are home starting prices, with appliances separate. Installation, site work, permitting service, and local fees need a property-specific proposal.
- 4
Permit path Wolf handles
Evaluation → design/proposal → local placement permit plus factory insignia (Washington L&I or Oregon BCD) → foundation, set, hookups, occupancy. One Wolf team. The evaluation is free.

Plans that fit a getaway
Start with the smallest plan that still sleeps the household. Step up only if the lot and the use need a second bedroom or a second bath.
Notice the rooms and details you would use. These are layouts to explore; we need to review your property before recommending one.
