Why Tiny Homes Need Mini-Split AC

We didn’t realize how efficient mini-split heat pumps are until we had installed hundreds of them and saw utility bills drop. I’m not a numbers person, but I do appreciate cheap energy bills. A mini-split is a heat pump without the ductwork, so you don’t lose heat or cooling through ducts running under the floor or through the attic. The biggest reason is efficiency. Not only are they energy efficient, but they’re also cost-effective to install. One extra feature that we love about mini-split heat pumps is the dehumidify mode. On damp fall and winter days, switching to this mode for a while pulls excess moisture out of the air and sends it down the condensate drain.
